GTA-RNS 2008 – International Workshop on
Generation, Testing and Applications of Random Number Sequences
in conjunction with
SYNASC 2008
10th International Symposium on
Symbolic and Numeric Algorithms for Scientific Computing
Timisoara, Romania
September 26 - 29, 2008
Workshop description:
The focus of this workshop is on the generation and testing of random number sequences, but papers describing applications of random sequences in various fields of symbolic and numeric computations are also welcome. In particular, random number sequences are of great importance for digital cryptography as well as for the newly emerging quantum cryptography. Bringing into light original contributions of either theoretical or practical nature is the main goal of this workshop.
Topics:
The main topics of the workshop are:
- Generation of pseudo-random number sequences
- Generation of true random number sequences
- Efficient implementation of software random number generators
- Parallel algorithms for generation of RNS
- Cryptographically secure random number generators
- Hardware random number generators
- Unpredictable random number generators
- Statistical testing of random number sequences
- Efficient implementation of statistical tests for RNS
- Parallel algorithms for testing RNS
- Application of random number sequences in digital cryptography
- Application of random number sequences in quantum cryptography
- Monte Carlo and Quasi-Monte Carlo methods
Submission of papers:
The papers of up to 6 pages should be formatted according to the IEEE conference style (http://synasc08.info.uvt.ro/storage/IEEE_CS_Latex.zip) and must be submitted electronically to asuciu@cs.utcluj.ro.
All papers will be peer reviewed by at least two independent referees of the program committee and accepted on the basis of their scientific merit and relevance to the Workshop topics. Papers accepted for presentation will be published in the SYNASC'08 post-proceedings (published by IEEE Computer Society Press) - ISI Proceedings.
